In 1997, Southern Colorado Family Medicine's PGY-1 year became approved as an
American Osteopathic Association traditional rotating internship. The internship
is in conjunction with Kirksville College of
Osteopathic Medicine. Students who successfully complete the internship and
the 3-year residency will be able to be board certified by both the AOA
and ABFP. This internship is intended for
students interested in obtaining this dual certification. There is no change in
the curriculum as compared to the usual PGY-1 curriculum. Osteopathic students
